SNOHOMISH — The Snohomish United soccer club presented its upcoming pre-professional league team’s name, jersey and logo last week at Haywire Brewing to a full house of 150 or more kids, parents and supporters. EVERETT — With the removal of park rangers next year, the city’s parks department presented plans for maintaining park safety at a City Council committee meeting Nov. 20. The committee also discussed plans to update the rules for noise ordinance violations.
EVERETT — The city has temporarily fenced off Clark Park at 24th and Lombard to begin deconstructing the park’s historic gazebo and constructing an off-leash dog play area in its place. City spokeswoman Simone Tarver said it could take until summer, when the 2,700-square-foot dog park is scheduled to be complete, before the fence is taken away.
MONROE — The City Council passed Mayor Geoffrey Thomas’s biennial budget unanimously, 7-0, during its Nov. 19 meeting. Also, utility rates will increase in 2025 for both the Water and Stormwater rates.
By a vote of 3-2, the Snohomish County Council on Nov. 25 approved a 2025-2026 biennial budget that rejected County Executive Dave Somers’ proposal for an 8% property tax increase over two years, instead amending it to a 4% increase over the biennium.
