Monroe Bearcat junior Chayce Waite-Kellar grabs Snohomish Panther sophomore Dayton Wheat’s shot away from the net in first period play of the two teams’ matchup Tuesday, Jan. 14 in Snohomish. The Bearcats played their template game with long passes to move their players into shooting range, playing defense along the way to a fine 51-37 win over Snohomish. Bearcat Junior Wyatt Prohn’s 14 points and teammate Caleb Campbell’s 12 powered Monroe’s evening. The Panthers were led by Bryson Wheat’s 17 points and Deyton Wheat’s 11 points. In Wesco 3A, the Bearcats lead the conference at 5-0 (13-2 overall), with Snohomish standing 2-3 (5-10 overall) as of Sunday, Jan. 19.
