Darrell "Buzz" Smith

Darrell “Buzz” Smith of Grangeville, Idaho passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 25th, 2025. Buzz was born to Wesley and Alvina “Dolly” Smith at their family home in Monroe, Washington on September 20, 1934. He grew up in Monroe as one of nine children: Joel, Larry, Neva, Buzz, Dixie, Jean, Cole, Brady and Nola. In December 1952 Buzz joined the Navy Reserves, transferring to the CB division after boot camp in San Diego. During his time as a reservist in the navy, he was drafted by the army receiving a medical discharge from the army in 1956 and an honorable discharge from the navy in 1960. It was during his service that Buzz began to court a good friend of his younger sister Jean’s, her name was Shirley, who he would later marry on December 15th, 1956, and spend the remaining 68 years of his life with. …

Marlene Hoff

Marlene L. Hoff, 78, of Bothell, Washington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Born on March 1, 1946, Marlene lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends who cherished her deeply. She will be lovingly remembered by Jacob, Emmy, and Lucas Hoff, as well as Jeff, Lori, and Randi Barlow. Marlene’s warmth and presence touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and connection. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date to honor her memory and the joy she brought to those who knew her. Marlene will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to her loved ones during this time of loss.

Kenneth "Ken" James McGlothlin

Kenneth “Ken” James McGlothlin, born June 7, 1943, in Dayton, WA, passed away peacefully at home in Marysville on December 15, 2024, at age 81. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Ola Eaton and Fred McGlothlin; sisters, Sharon, Dolores and Nelly; grandkids, DeJohn (DJ) Ward-Taylor, and Megan Foos. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sister, Patricia; children, Cyndi (Jeff) Barquet, Kris (Larry) Schroder, Shannon (Dennis) Foos, Sabrie (Steve) Taylor, and Heidi Chalker; grandchildren, Vanessa, Brittany, and Nicolette Lantz; Stephen and Madison Foos; Alisha Instrell; Oshinaye and Veronika Taylor; Blake Denton; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others who lovingly called him Dad or Grandpa. His motto “Anyone can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a dad.” Ken proudly served as a Navy Reservist for four years and worked as a crane operator, a career he loved.
