Mary (Cozzetto) Dellino

August 30, 1931 - September 15, 2024

Mary Antoinette (Cozzetto) Dellino, 93, passed on to the Kingdom of Heaven on September 15, 2024 where she was reunited with her beloved husband Frank, son Steve, her parents, brothers Joe and Michele, nephew Jeffrey, and numerous friends.

Mary was born August 30, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Pasqualina Cozzetto, who immigrated to New York from Calabria, Italy. Mary’s father died when she was 7, and when her mother left them orphaned at 15, Mary and her brother Joe bravely boarded a train and headed west to the unknown in Spokane where they were greeted by extended family, Julia and George Cozzetto and their six children. The Cozzetto family loved them like their own.

Mary graduated at the age of 16 from Marycliff High School. She met her future husband Frank in Spokane, and in 1951 they married. They moved to Seattle in 1960 where they made their home near Greenlake. There they lovingly raised a family of eight children: Domenick (Marcy), Frank Jr. (Pamela), Carmela (Cherie) (Jim Sather), Dave (Judi), Paula (Patrick) Jacoby, Steve (Jean), Mary (Joseph) DeFilippo, and Giovanni/John. Mary is also survived by 17 grandchildren, their spouses, 28 great grandchildren, and nephews Joe and Johnny Cozzetto.

Mary and Frank were married for 62 years before he passed in 2013. They lived a full life of faith, family, community service, travel, and endless house projects, always very connected with their Catholic parish church.

Mary was incredibly proud of her Italian heritage, which contributed to her active involvement in the Sons of Italy since the 1960’s. She was instrumental in promoting her Lodge’s Scholarship Fund.

Mary’s perpetual kindness, devotion to her faith and family, subtle humor, glowing smile, amazing skill as a cook, and talent for sharing stories, and her artwork will be missed by all. Among the virtues she taught her children were love, honesty, kindness for others with less privilege, and a strong work ethic. She radiated an aura of love, acceptance, and perpetual goodness that was undeniable. She will be forever missed, and her legacy celebrated and carried on through all who ere lucky enough to know her.

There will be a Memorial Service on October 11, at 11:00am at St. Brendan Church in Bothell, WA. A reception will follow in the church hall. In honor of her value of the importance of education and being a life-long learner, in lieu of flowers Mary requested donations be sent to the Mille Cugini Scholarship Fund, in care of Larry Pirone, 6925 47th Ave NE, Apt 24, Marysville, WA 98270.
