Anita Jean Flowers Ricci passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024, at United General Hospital in Sedro-Woolley, WA. She was born in Mount Vernon, WA on August 21, 1930. Anita graduated in 1948 from Mount Baker High School. Later in life, she pursued a correspondence course in bookkeeping and enjoyed that profession for many years.
Anita is survived by her sister Patricia Bass, her 4 children, Cathy (Shawn) Stevens, Cheryl Pearson, Bill (Julie) Pearson and Linda (Dale) Miller, and step-son Ted (Jennifer) Ricci; grand-children include Sam Pearson, Joe (Ariel) Pearson, Stefan Pearson-Boyce (Kandi) and Mikaela Pearson, Amanda and Lindsey Miller, Benton (Andrea) Ricci and Brandon Ricci; great-grandchildren Daisy Miller, Riley Pearson-Boyce, Nicholas, Matthew and Parker Pearson and Braydon, Corbin, Easton, Dana, and Olivia Ricci. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Ashleigh and Bertha Flowers, siblings Shirley Sparrs, Dorothy Kelly, Rita Hangstefer and Wilfred Flowers; Her first husband Alvin Pearson and second husband Ted Ricci.
Anita loved her family and celebrated their unique gifts. Her sisters were her best friends. She loved gardening, especially her beautiful roses and many kinds of flowers, which Ted faithfully tended to in their Burlington home. In younger years, she and Ted enjoyed annual trips to La Push with extended family members, a tradition now carried on by a younger generation of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Creekside Continuing Care Community for their kindness in caring for Anita during her last few years. A memorial will be scheduled in the spring of 2025.
