Barbara Louise McPherson (Wallace) passed away on August 23, 2024. Barbara was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin to Ada and Orland Wallace on December 22, 1939. The Wallace family moved to Sultan, Washington in 1943. Barbara attended Sultan schools and proudly graduated as a Turk in 1958.
On November 10, 1961, Barbara married the love of her life, Perry McPherson. The two were married for 53 years before Perry’s passing in 2014. Their love for one another and for their family is a testament and inspiration to all who knew them.
Barbara lived a full and glorious life. She loved to travel with Perry in their motorhome. Camping, fishing, crabbing, sightseeing...they loved doing and seeing it all together. The two were inseparable.
Barbara always enjoyed visiting with her many friends, classmates, co-workers, loved ones, and never turned down the opportunity to visit a local casino, watch a classic Western or bake a batch of her famous pecan tarts!
But none of that compared to the love and admiration that she had for her children and grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her two children; Debby Iverson (Don) and James McPherson (Erin) as well as her four grandchildren; Joelle Iverson (Daisy), Dylan Iverson, Evan McPherson and Connor McPherson. Barbara found great joy in spending quality time with family, which brought her immense love, peace and fulfillment. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Barbara is survived by her three siblings; Jim Wallace, Joyce LaFleur (Vern), Gerry Goin as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins whom she loved so dearly.
Barbara will be laid to rest next to Perry at the IOOF cemetery in Monroe. A family celebration-of-life will be held in September. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate) in Barbara’s name.
