Mitchell (Mitch) Kim Huntley

September 14, 1977 - July 10, 2024

At the age of forty-six, Mitchell Kim Huntley (Mitch) succumbed to the long-term effects of Congestive Heart Failure on Wednesday July 10, 2024, shortly after moving back to his childhood home in Snohomish from the Tacoma area where he lived for most of his adult life.  Born to a Korean mother, and an American service member on September 14, 1977, in Boo Pyung, Korea, he and his half-sister, Maxie, became part of the Huntley family March 29, 1981.
For many years Mitch and the whole family trained in Taekwondo, including attending, and competing in tournaments around the N.W.  He earned his 2nd Degree Black-Belt before he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma as a young teen. He fought hard for several years and with the assistance of some very strong chemotherapy came out the victor. That victory however was accompanied by an enlarged heart at 16, and eventually congestive heart failure
Mitch attended Snohomish schools from kindergarten on, graduating from Snohomish High School in 1996.  He worked for over 20 years at Brooks Sportswear and shared his love of photography with many a bride and groom, but his favorite photos were impromptu and showed his artistry.
Music was also very important, he was hoping to play the four guitars he owned more frequently. He enjoyed punk rock yet could put up with the “golden oldies” for short periods of time.
He leaves behind his parents Neal and Anita, sister Maxie, two nephews Tom and Maxwell and long-time friends including Sarah Seamster.  His childhood was blessed by two older brothers, Adam and Daniel who passed prior to Mitch.
A Celebration of life will take place on Saturday September 7, 2024, beginning at 2 PM at Christ the King Lutheran Church and Preschool, 1305 Pine Ave. Snohomish, WA.  98290.  We welcome all who have known Mitch in any way to attend, please bring a story to share.
In place of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in his name.
The service will be live streamed on YouTube and recorded for later viewing.
