Community Transit to standardize fares to $2.50

When light rail arrives to Lynnwood Aug. 30, Community Transit will discontinue its commuter buses down to Seattle soon after. The agency announced it will discard its commuter fare price, and go to a uniform $2.50 for local bus, Swift, Zip Alderwood Shuttle, and DART paratransit services. Comments sought.

Everett Silvertips hockey advance to WHL Semifinal

The Everett Silvertips punched their ticket to the Western Hockey League Conference Semifinals with a 5-0 win over Vancouver on Sunday, April 7, sweeping four games in a row. Everett now face the Portland Winterhawks. The series starts Friday, April 12 in Portland. The Silvertips have semifinal home games at Angel of the Winds Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., on Monday, April 15 and Friday, April 19. Game tickets went on sale earlier this week.

Consultant: No contamination clean-up required in Snohomish Pine Avenue block

SNOHOMISH — A third consultant concluded there is no contamination which requires site cleanup in the block of Pine Avenue where there are plans for a future fire station and Snohomish city government buildings.
