Monroe’s Red Robin restaurant closes

MONROE — The Red Robin restaurant on Kelsey Street is permanently closed, the message on its phone line said. It had been there 20 years. Its signage is removed.

In its investors conference call in late February, the company said it plans to close 10 to 15 of what it described as “underpeforming” locations this year as leases expire, and further close up to 70 of its nearly 500 restaurants over the next five years.

Red Robin, the corporation, owns the land under the Monroe restaurant,  countytax records show.
