#“I have witnessed firsthand the steadfast dedication of our educators, staff, and administrators who work tirelessly to create an environment where every student can thrive,” Mason wrote, mentioning that she saw the district navigate unprecedented challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, overcoming significant budget deficits and she alluded to the 2019 death of fellow school board member Ted Wenta.
#“I am confident my colleagues will find someone who shares in the enthusiasm of educating our students and will have the time and passion to guide the district’s success,” Mason wrote.
#Mason and current board president Traci Mitchell had both joined in 2014.
#Mason spent 11 years on the board — 460 meetings, of which she spent 3½ years as board president. Her resignation was effective last week.
