4A Boys:
No. 14 Arlington eked past No. 11 Kentwood with a 57-56 win March 1 at Auburn High, one of the sites for 4A opening rounds. Arlington proceeds to a March 5 match against Glacier Peak at 9 a.m. at the Tacoma Dome.
Lake Stevens didn’t make State.
3A Boys:
Monroe smashed its opponent in opening rounds, getting a 62-33 win over Gig Harbor in a game Friday, Feb. 28 held at Arlington High. No. 10-seeded Monroe next plays No. 2-seeded Mount Spokane on March 5 at the Tacoma Dome in a loser-out match. No. 5-seeded Edmonds-Woodway leaped into the quarterfinals and have a game March 5.
4A Girls:
Both Glacier Peak and Lake Stevens are in the hunt. No. 15 Lake Stevens beat Issaquah 61-53 Saturday in Issaquah, next play No. 7 Camas March 5.
Glacier Peak beat Emerald Ridge 52-43 on Saturday and will face No. 5 Union.
3A Girls:
Monroe got knocked out of State in opening rounds, taking a 55-42 loss to Bellarmine Prep.
No. 4 Stanwood is Snohomish County’s greatest hope. They play a quarterfinals game March 5, opponent not yet determined.
