On the road to the Tacoma Dome and State the Glacier Peak Grizzlies were tripped up, 55 - 59, by the West Valley Rams of Yakima on Friday evening.
Both teams advance in State. Glacier Peak’s next opponent will be Arlington on March 5 at the Tacoma Dome in a loser-out game.
The Grizzlies played a balanced, paced game with long passes to move
the ball under the net, balanced with strong 3-point shooting. GP made goods rebounds with follow-on baskets.
Two hotshots on the Rams, senior Landen Birley and junior Parker Mills, combined to put in 51 points of the Yakima team’s 59.
GP’s Jo Lee scored often and proved too fast for Rams defenders all night with a team-high 28 points. Senior team mate Jayce Nelson put in 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
