Snohomish Panthers senior Tyler Gildersleeve-Stiles soars for 2 of her 14 points over Everett defenders Akilah Shaw and another during first period play of the Panthers’ trampling over the Seagulls 65 - 12 on the Panther home floor. The Seagulls played a spirited defense but were frustrated by their shooting, scoring 3 in the first quarter, 4 in the second quarter and 12 overall. The Seagulls were led by sophomore Beatrice Lane with five points.
In the evening opener, the Snohomish Boys played a hard-fought battle against the Everett Seagulls, winning in the closing seconds 45 - 44. In the final minutes both coaches used many timeouts to control the flow and pace of the game.
The Snohomish girls next play Marysville-Getchell on Wednesday, Jan. 22, then host Marysville-Pilchuck on Friday, Jan. 24. The home game against Marysville-Pilchuck starts at 6:30 p.m.
