Teen stabbed on Broadway, suspect sought and is still at large

EVERETT -- Police are searching for an adult male who is said to have stabbed a 13-year-old near the 2500 block of Broadway this morning.
Police said witnesses described the man as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall, last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt and yellow beanie.
The victim was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in stable condition by the Everett Fire Department.
Police said they did not know what led to the stabbing.
Mayor Cassie Franklin said in a statement she was heartbroken by the incident harming a teen.
"As a mom who walked her daughter to school along the exact same route every day, I’m horrified by this violent act," Franklin said in the statement. "Public safety is our city’s top priority and our Everett Police will continue to dedicate all our resources towards identifying and locating the person of interest and ensuring our residents feel safe throughout our community."
The department increased patrols near schools in response, Franklin said.
