All hands on a rebound during first period play of one of the key matchups for Districts on Saturday, Feb. 22 between the No. 2-ranked Lake Stevens Vikings and No. 5-ranked Glacier Peak Grizzlies.
Trailing 23 - 34 a the half, the Glacier Peak girls roared back in the second half to swamp Lake Stevens 70 - 52 in a solid march to State. The early Saturday morning game was fast and physical. With both teams slated for State, no one appeared to be concerned about injuries. The Grizzlies used their signature long passes, strong rebounding and dominate three-point shooting to move up the State bracket.
Glacier Peak opens State play against Emerald Ridge March 1 at the opponents’ court. Lake Stevens will play Issaquah at Issaquah that night.
