To the Editor:
I’m writing in wholehearted agreement with Morgan Davis’s recent letter to the editor, “Snohomish Civic Campus unnecessary excess for town” (Jan. 29 Tribune).
In the current times of municipal government budget discovery, it seems prudent to slow down and not push for a $72.7 million taxpayer-funded commitment that is over designed for the city’s needs. The status quo is sufficient for the needs of 10,000 residents, it’s city council who has their hand in the proverbial cookie jar hoping to snatch $7,300.00 in development money (that’s not accounting for the unknown and inevitable cost overruns) out of the pockets of its residents before anyone does the math. Thanks, Morgan, for bringing the numbers forward for us to digest.
