LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Responses to recent Tribune letters on First Street, Trump

TRIBUNE LETTERS

To the Editor:

I’d like to comment on a couple of recent letters in the Tribune.

In the April 9 paper, a letter discussing First Street sounds like Carlee Montanaro is quite happy with the status quo: “leave things as they are”... However, within the numerous “complaints” that she never hears are the unspoken absences. I liken my logic to a visit to a new restaurant: if there is anything that you don’t like about it - you just never go back!  Unless it’s really terrible, you don’t even bother writing a review, you just never darken the door again...

Meanwhile, in the April 2 paper, the letter from Karen Guzak leaves no doubt as to where Karen stands politically. However, since the creation of the Department of Education, education has gone down, down and further down. Kids today cannot read or do math at grade level. They are being trained in things that mean nothing in the real world. LGTBQ+ stuff has no business in elementary schools. The three R’s are supposed to be taught and the current results are pathetic.
