On a perfect Spring afternoon in Lake Stevens the Vikings slipped past the Everett Seagulls 5 - 4 in extra innings on Wednesday, April 16. Viking junior Emerson Cummins smashed open the scoring with a 2-run home run in the first inning. The matchup settled into a pitchers’ battle with Lake Stevens senior Mara Sivley, pictured, giving up 7 hits versus 12 strikeouts. Everett’s pitcher, sophomore Anna Luscher, dusted 12 giving up 8 hits. The contest was tied in the fifth inning until Lake Stevens senior Charli Pugmire’s single with two outs in the eighth inning drove in teammate senior McKenna Richer for the Viking win.
