LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Current Snohomish administration huge difference, huge improvement

SNOHOMISH ADMINISTRATION

To the Editor:
I write this letter to express thanks to our current Snohomish City Administration for 3 years of competence, prosperity and calm.
These recent years stand in stark contrast to Snohomish’s previous administration. Our last administration deferred maintenance on aging infrastructure; prompted four senior city contributors, all of them women, to resign; formed a citizen committee to patrol our neighborhoods, and invited armed white supremacists to defend against an imaginary Antifa invasion; all analogous to disruption being wrought nationally now.
Over the 40 years I have lived in Snohomish, I have watched administration after administration, including the previous one, try to make their vision of “progress” a reality, always with stiff head winds … until our current administration.
Here is what I have learned:
Nonpartisan politics are good politics at the city level. By nonpartisan I mean city problem focused not party polarized, not sectarian, not parochial…but legal, anticipatory, helpful, and responsive.
Listening to constituents and local business is key to that progress and prosperity. Keeping the city within the bounds of the law is key to keeping us safe and providing space for everyone.
Snohomish is an old town with fragile infrastructure. Honoring the historic nature of our core, while implementing 21st century services is a tough balancing act.
Experience counts and residents of Snohomish have experienced steadiness, confidence, and sound judgement with this city administration.
For these accomplishments, Mayor Redmon and her administrative team, have my gratitude, admiration, and continued support.
