The Monroe Bearcats blitzed the Shorewood Stormrays 49 - 7 in the Bearcats’ season home opener on a football perfect Friday evening Sept. 20. Above, Bearcat #7, 5’8”, 180 pound senior Mason Davis breaks a tackle in first quarter play. The Bearcats took the opening kickoff into the end zone and then scored about every time they had the ball. The half time tally was 42 - 0 with the Bearcats having at least one touchdown called back. Davis and teammate running back, junior BK Kingsley, both rushed to make touchdowns for Monroe. Monroe posted 407 yards rushing and 78 in the air and displayed a stingy defense. Despite the few passing yards, wide receiver senior Aaron Clifton caught for 18 points toward the Bearcats’ tally.
