Running to honor heroes

Braedan Gardner, 20, of Everett (at right in green hoodie) and Zachary Verge, 27, of Everett (in green T-shirt), as well as a happy UW fan run in the first part of the start of the 
9/11 Heroes 5K Run held Sept. 14 at Willis Tucker Park in Snohomish. The Travis Manion Foundation veteran service organization organizes the run to honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001 and in the wars since.
The 5K‘s overall winner was Jason Labusky with a time of 20 minutes 42 seconds.
Joan Lindell Olsen, 56 of Kirkland, was the overall female winner with a time of 20 minutes and 50 seconds. Justice Perkins, 26 of Issaquah, finished second overall in the male division with a time of 21 minutes and 23 seconds.
