To the Editor:
Thank you to the Tribune for continuing to cover stories regarding the services of Community Kitchen to the City of Snohomish (latest in Oct. 9 Tribune.) We are a nonprofit group serving 85-105 meals each Monday and Thursday evenings. Community Kitchen rents space from St. John’s Episcopal Church and functions from the generosity of donations from the Snohomish Community. There was $30,000.00 given by a generous donor to upgrade appliances at St. John’s to provide our services. A donation was also provided for a new dishwasher. Due to Covid it was necessary to implement Take-out meals for which the City of Snohomish provided a Thrive Grant to help offset costs.
Although Emmanuel Baptist, Good Shepherd Lutheran and Crossview no longer serve with Community Kitchen, LDS Church, the Thursday Supper Club and Restoration Road are part of the team. Restoration Road will finish their commitment the end of this year and we are looking for a replacement, if your church is available to serve on Mondays or Thursdays please contact us.
Because we are a non-profit, we rely on donations from individuals, churches and other organizations. Often times memorial funds are given in the loss of loved ones. Contact us for information.
