LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Judicial candidate Mary Anderson is community-focused

COUNTY JUDGE’S ELECTION

To the Editor:

A judge’s role extends beyond the bench; it requires envisioning how the judiciary can best serve the community. Judicial Candidate Mary Anderson embodies this community-focused leadership. Since she began her journey to serve, she has actively listened to the community’s desire for fair trials.

One significant change she advocates is increasing juror compensation from $10 to $100 per day. This essential proposal ensures that all citizens, regardless of economic status, can fulfill their civic duty and participate in a true jury of peers. By enabling participation in jury service for everyone, we can create a jury that represents a diverse cross-section of our community. Pierce County is leading the way in this effort, and with Mary Anderson’s leadership, Snohomish County can follow suit.

Since 2023, Mary has championed this reform, demonstrating her commitment to justice and equity. This vision remains a key pillar of her 2024 platform. We need visionary leaders like her to propel Snohomish County forward.

Let’s make a conscious choice to elect a judge who listens, understands, and prioritizes community concerns. Together, we can build a judiciary that truly represents us all — a system where fairness prevails, and every citizen has a voice. Vote for Mary Anderson!
