Monroe squeaked out a 25 - 23 win in the first game, dropped the second 14 - 25 and failed to rally in the following games to give the match to the visiting Seagulls 3 - 1. Despite the loss the Bearcats stand 8 -3 overall, and third in District at 3 -2. The Seagulls fell to fourth in District 2 -2, and are 3 - 7 overall.
