9-year-old Max Soterakopoulos of Everett won the U.S. Kids Oregon State Invitational. The two-day tournament, hosted at Langdon Farms Golf Course on Nov. 16 and 17, was a tough event during the wind, rain, and cold.
The conditions were not enough to prevent Max from finishing 7-under par. He scored 69 on the first day followed by a 4-under par 68 on the second. His scorecard included 13 birdies and 1 eagle.
“I was locked in. The weather was so cold, but my putting was on fire!” Max said.
Max will go next to the US Kids Northwest Cup in January in California. He has also earned his fourth invitation to the US Kids Golf World Championship in North Carolina.
