To the Editor:
Once again the Tribune provides good news with inspiration as people take action to make a difference. The zombies are having fun as they rise for the food bank and a Snohomish freshman is exercising his opportunity to express his opinion in a letter to the editor about voting to stop global warming (Oct. 30 letters), even though he is too young to vote. These are good examples of taking action to make a difference.
We can do our part by voting and then following up. What if the new farm bill included an expansion of the SNAP program so millions of Americans no longer have to choose between rent and food? And how about asking Congress to make good on both candidates pledges to renew the Child Tax Credit that can once again cut child poverty by 46%? Your call to legislators at 202-224-3121 to thank them for support and encourage makes a difference!
