SNOHOMISH — On Monday, May 20, Herrera Environmental Consultants will present their findings based on site visits, and the analysis and review of the data from the Blackman Lake water samples, and its suggestions for reducing algae in the lake. The meeting will be at the Snohomish Carnegie Building (105 Cedar Ave.) at 6 p.m.
Herrera identified the lakebed is releasing phosphorous that feeds blue-green algal blooms. One solution is to treat the lake with either alum sulfate or lanthanum.
A Tribune story from April 10 with more details about these findings is here.
