Public hearings in July include new sales tax measure

The Snohomish County Council will hold a public hearing of a proposition for the ballot for a new countywide sales and use tax of 0.2% to be used for public safety, health and criminal justice on Wednesday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. on the 8th floor of the Robert J. Drewel Building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

The proposition would be for November’s ballot.

The week prior, other public hearings will be held Wednesday, July 3 at 10:30 a.m. on the 8th floor of the Robert J. Drewel Building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. 

These public hearings will discuss Proposed Ordinance No. 24-042. and No. 24-045. 

Ordinance No. 24-045 is to amend Snohomish County Code relating to storm and surface water management, allowing a motion for cancellation of uncollectible surface water charges to be brought to the Council at any time during the course of lawful collections. 

Ordinance No. 24-042 is to approve an agreement with the State of Washington Department of Ecology to provide delegation and funding to Snohomish County in order to administer and enforce well sealing, tagging and decommissioning apportions of the water well construction regulations.
