Everett Police featured on “live cops”-style TV show

EVERETT — Everett officers recently had a camera crew ridealong with them showing their work live for a cable TV show.

The department agreed to be part of “On Patrol: Live,” a reality documentary show on the Reelz channel that is essentially the successor to the cable TV show “Live PD.” Camera crews follow officers in multiple departments at once, and the show jumps from department to department as action unfolds generaly in real time.

The show from Saturday, June 15 will be replayed Friday, June 21 at 5 p.m., a spokesman for the Reelz channel said. The Friday and Saturday shows were also both replayed last Sunday after press time.

“In addition to riding with the Everett Police Department live on Friday and Saturday nights, ‘On Patrol: Live’ will film patrol officers in their daily operations as they respond to routine and emergent calls for service within the city,” the city said in a press release June 11.

Police Chief John DeRousse said in the press release he sees being on the show as a recruitment opportunity for Everett Police.

“I believe that seeing our officers in action will inspire more people to consider a career with the Everett Police Department,” DeRousse said in the press release.

The Reelz channel is on channel 205 for Comcast, channel 299 for DISH Network, 238 on DirecTV and also available through services such as Peacock and Sling. It’s owned by Hubbard Media Group of New Mexico.

The TV series “COPS” has visited the area. They rode with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office in 2008.
