SNOHOMISH — The former furniture store on Second Street that had a damaging fire last summer is now set to be under reconstruction.
City permit documents show it will be a restoration job of the existing building.
The fire damaged the building’s southeast corner.
It took about five months to process the permits to start reconstruction, including going through the city’s volunteer Design Review Board.
The bulding at 1010 Second St. was built in 1947 and first housed Poier Motors, a hometown General Motors auto dealership.
The building’s quonset-hut-style design was promoted in an advertisement in national magazines including The Saturday Evening Post when it was relatively new.
