Blackman Lake is under monitor for experiencing a toxic algae bloom.
“A sample was collected on Thursday, July 18 and is awaiting toxin analysis and results,” the county’s surface water management office said.
Separately, at Monroe’s Chain Lake, a potential bloom is being watched, too, according to the county.
Blue-green toxic algae sometimes looks like a paint spill on the water. Non-toxic algae looks like a mat.
