Monroe Bearcat sophomore Isaiah Kiehl follows for 2 of his 10 points during a Monroe home game against Lake Stevens on Friday, Dec. 13. Kiehl also had 6 assists on the night.
The Bearcats had five players in double digit scoring and showed a tough defense to roll over the Lake Stevens Vikings 79 - 49.
The matchup started unusually, with no tip off but the Bearcats taking an unattended free throw with no opposition player at the line, and then the ball was tossed into play. A referee told this photographer that in the warm up period a Lake Sevens player
had “hung on the basket rim,” perhaps causing a rule infraction leading to the unusual game start.
The Bearcats stand at 5 - 0 on the season. The 2 - 3 Vikings were led by David Freeman on 15 points, and teammate Brody Pierpoint scored 10.
