SNOHOMISH — An assistant principal at Centennial Middle School has been on leave since the start of the school year, and was arrested Nov. 6 from the investigation of an alleged rape of a child.
The allegations are unrelated to any student, a separate set of family court documents confirmed.
Lake Stevens Police arrested the assistant principal after a multi-month investigation, and he posted $50,000 bond in Everett District Court after the arrest.
The Tribune is not naming the school administrator, from Lake Stevens because he has not been arraigned in court. Arraignment usually formalizes the criminal charges to be weighed in the judicial system.
The child rape allegation was made Sept. 3, family court documents show.
He has been on leave since Sept. 4.
“Please be assured that as soon as the district became aware of the non-school related allegations, the district placed the assistant principal on administrative leave,” Snohomish School District spokeswoman Kristin Foley told media outlets.
Centennial has an interim assistant principal in place.
The man’s attorney told the Herald that these charges were dismissed. But the county prosecutor’s office told the Herald last week that police referred their charges to county prosecutors and that the file is still open. It is still being determined whether to file the case.
