SNOHOMISH — The Snohomish High School Theatre Club will proudly present “Elf: the Musical” in the Snohomish High School’s Performing Arts Center on Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.shstheatre.club for $15, with reduced rates for children, seniors, and military.
Revel in the story of Buddy the Elf, a human raised by Santa and his elves in the North Pole, as a stageplay.
The 2003 film was turned into a Broadway play in 2010.
“Elf: The Musical” is a great way for the whole family to start the holiday season! You’ll want to sing! Rated PG. Run time is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes with one 15-minute intermission.
Performance times are Fridays, Dec. 6 and 13 at 7 p.m. and Saturdays, Dec. 7 and 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
“This show is going to be spectacular,” Snohomish High senior Jayden Montiel, who plays Buddy the Elf, said in a press release. “In my four years of high school theater, this is the most unique and exciting production we’ve ever done.”
Director Holly Batstone writes that “ ‘Elf’ is, at its heart, an ugly duckling story. The story of someone who doesn’t quite fit in trying to find a community that will accept him for who he is.”
This is Batstone’s directorial debut with Snohomish theater, and she is also the Snohomish High choir teacher.
The Snohomish High School Theatre club is a student-led after-school club with 75 members who are passionate about bringing theatre to the Snohomish community. Their spring show will be Disney’s “Descendants: the Musical” with planned performance dates of May 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10.
