The Snohomish School District is planning to have a $198.8 million general budget for the next school year.
It will have $197 million in revenue, creating a $1.5 million deficit. It will offset the deficit by drawing from its fund balance. It’s a cushion of unspent money that is about $16 million saved.

increase from last school year.
Monroe Schools to adopt its budget
The school board is set to adopt the 2024-2025 budget at its Aug. 26 board meeting.
It will have $108.0 million in revenue but $109.9 million in expenditure, a $1.9 million difference. It will offset the deficit by drawing from its fund balance. It’s a cushion of unspent money that is about $11 million saved.
There’s been a 3.7% increase in salary and benefits costs against a 2.8% increase in revenue from various funding sources. K-12 state and federal funding make up nearly 80% of the district’s funding.
