Everett Mall second-wave redevelopment includes on-site golf entertainment center

EVERETT — Plans for redeveloping part of the Everett Mall are underway, as a public hearing to discuss an upcoming project will take place Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. virtually through Microsoft Teams.

The project is a proposal to build a new outdoor entertainment and recreation venue at the Everett Mall. It will be a 68,000 square foot, three-level building, featuring a restaurant, bar and entertainment/event space, including golf ball hitting bays and an outfield with electronic targets on an 11-acre site. This project will require a variance, or waiver to allow modifications which local zoning ordinances would typically restrict, for a proposed 170-foot net pole. Applicants have also submitted a design modification request to address exterior building materials and a sign modification request to exceed the 300 square foot maximum permitted signage along a front building façade.

The current owners of the mall, Brixton Everett LLC, are the ones applying for this project, and being overseen by Kyle Godat, Director of Development for Brixton Capital.

“Bringing a major, new entertainment anchor to the Everett Mall will be a game changer especially in conjunction with the major redevelopment in progress. For the last few years, my team has been working closely with mall ownership, Brixton Capital, on plans to reimagine this important retail and community space. Construction is underway as they redevelop much of the mall, making the space more walkable and open and working to bring a variety of additional, exciting tenants,” Mayor Cassie Franklin said about the proposed project.
