Norris the Zebra is safe at new home

MACHIAS — The local celebrity zebra, Norris, has moved to a new larger pasture in March which should make him happier, his prior owner said on social media.

People had begun asking where Norris went. He now lives on nearly 70 acres in Buckley, in Pierce County, far larger than the farm he lived on in Machias, prior owner Monica Doppel said.

Doppel had been caring for Norris since he was rehomed from a petting zoo in Washington in March 2022.

Zebras cannot be domesticated. They are exotic animals.
