The city announced Thursday morning that the Averill Field Playground ribbon cutting scheduled for Friday, April 19 has been postponed as the contractor has informed the City that they will not be able to complete the surfacing installation in time. The new playground will be the first all-inclusive and accessible in the City.
"Safety is our priority, and while the playground is so close to being done, it won’t be safe for play until the surfacing is 100% installed," said City Administrator Heather Thomas.
