With Lake Stevens Viking Alyssa Waldo sliding into second base, Snohomish Panther shortstop Cam Sage throws to first in an attempted double play at Lake Stevens on Tuesday, April 2. Out-scoring their opponents by 19 runs in their previous two games, the Vikings were held to just two runs by Panther sophomore pitcher Abby Edwards. But that proved to be enough as the Vikings blanked the Panthers 2-0 in the non-league game. While the loss put the Panthers at 5-5 on the season, they remained in the lead of the Wesco 2A-3A league standings tied with Cascade at 4-0 at the start of this week. The Vikings improved to 10-1 and are 0-0 in league standings as they have yet to play a league game. The season reaches the halfway point this week.
