SNOHOMISH — The lanky Lake Stevens man who went on an overnight vandalism spree Feb. 8 in town held animosity against most of his targets, from a recurring theme in the police report.
The man had an initial court appearance Friday, Feb. 24.
Police tie him to busting up the Avenue A gazebo, but he also did extensive damage to a Snohomish man’s car and spray-painted a racist threat onto it, spray-painted “Cult” on The Pursuit Church’s windows and damaged them, sliced The Bridge Church’s banners, damaged a church leader’s car, and damaged three police SUV windshields in the Snohomish Police Department parking lot.
The vandal had a falling out with the son of the private company owner who orchestrated the gazebo’s 2022 renovation.
The vandal also had a conflict with the Snohomish car owner and a leader in The Bridge Church.
Surveillance video recorded much of his movement through town, leading to his capture 15 days later. He faces six felony-level vandalism charges, a felony hate crime charge for spray painting the threat and three misdemeanor vandalism charges.
