Endeavour Elementary may reopen in January after Dec. 3 fire

MUKILTEO — It may take a few more weeks to repair Endeavour Elementary, the school off of Harbor Pointe Boulevard that was damaged in a Dec. 3 fire.
The district said Endeavour might be ready to reopen by Jan. 8.
Otherwise, Plan B is to have a portion of students attend Endeavour and others in kindergarten and first grade would temporarily take their classes at Discover Elementary in south Everett. Both plans have classes happening while reconstruction work is going on.
Winter break began Dec. 15. Endeavour students continued their classes by learning from home by laptop.
About 435 students attend Endeavour, according to state enrollment numbers.
The district said it is coordinating daily with contractors.
That work will include repairs to the roof and its structure, repairs to walls and painting throughout the school.
The fire’s cause was still under investigation, according to a Dec. 13 update from the district.
The fire happened in the ceiling in the hallway south of the library and office. The district said all the main building and classrooms sustained damage from smoke and water.
