EVERETT — A proposed 227-apartment complex with ground-floor commercial space would replace most of the block bordered by Pacific Avenue, Rockefeller Avenue, Oakes Avenue and 32nd Street, minus the building at Oakes and Pacific avenues.
The Jackson senior housing center at Oakes and Pacific is staying.
The apartments would be for low- to middle-income residents and could house upwards of 470 people, its application says.
The building would stand six levels tall; it would have underground parking with entrances and exits along Oakes and along 32nd Street.
Construction could start in spring 2023 if approved, the application narrative says.
A row of historic homes along Oakes are listed to give way in the project, from cross-referencing the planning application against land records. The corner of Rockefeller and 32nd is vacant land.
The developer is DevCo, of Bellevue. It would be taking ownership of 15 land parcels to make it happen.
Comments to Everett city planning about the project are being taken through Tuesday, Dec. 6. The planner is Dennis Osborn.
The project’s tentative name is the “Rockefeller Apartments.”
Elsewhere in Everett, DevCo is well underway on constructing low- to middle-income apartments at the former Kmart site at 8102 Evergreen Way, and the company also built the Riverview Apartments in the 1600 block of E. Marine View Drive and the Axis Apartments on Highway 99 just south of Airport Road.
