EVERETT — The cars are all gone from Epic Ford as the dealership shut down earlier this month.
It leaves Everett currently without a dealer for the No. 3-selling automaker in America.
The Ford dealership was owned by Swickard Auto Group, an Oregon-based company.
The real estate and the business have been sold, and the company cannot discuss the transaction, said Greg Gates, a vice president at Swickard. The company has various car dealerships in Washington and four other states.
Land assessor’s records at the county have not revealed the new landowner.
Epic’s phone line directs people to nearby Ford dealers such as Bickford Motors of Snohomish.
Prior to Swickard taking over, the dealership at 52nd Street and Evergreen Way was Brien Ford for decades.
Among all categories of retail for the city’s sales tax revenue, auto sales in Everett represent about 28%. In city limits, the city has dealers selling new Toyotas, Chevrolets, Dodges and Chryslers, Hondas, Hyundais, Kias, Nissans, Volkswagens, GMCs and Buicks. The Mazda dealer is just outside city limits.
