EVERETT — When the Fourth comes Monday, Everett will be exploding with events from firework shows to live music to food trucks to beer gardens.
Missing is the annual Fourth of July Parade, which was not given city funding in the budget this year.
The city is holding the free Fourth of July Festival starting at 3 p.m. at Legion Park. There is no parking, but a free shuttle from Everett Community College front of the Walt Price Fitness Center can get you there.
The music lineup for the Legion Park festival has Seattle rock n’ rollers Massy Ferguson at 4 p.m., blueswoman Lady “A” at 6 p.m. and the modern blues/rock band Eden at 8 p.m.
The Imagine Children’s Museum is bringing a bunch of kids play activities, and the city notes the park has a nice playground.
Leashed dogs are allowed, and must wear a muzzle when on the shuttles. Everett Transit provides the free shuttle.
Face masks are encouraged but not required.
Meanwhile, the Everett Music Initiatve is hosting a concurrent waterfront concert at Boxcar Park featuring ‘80s party band Nite Wave and Fleetwood Mac tribute group The Little Lies, plus a beer garden and more. The music starts at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 in advance through www.everettmusicinitiative.com and $40 at the door.
