Early morning shooting sends man to hospital

EVERETT — Police believe the victim and his shooter know each other in an early-morning shooting in a room at the Days Inn hotel on Everett Mall Way Thursday, Feb. 17.
He was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with non-life threatening injuries, Everett Police spokesman Officer Kerby Duncan said.
The suspected shooter left in a silver sedan, and police are still looking for this person.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was shot through both legs. It appears to be one bullet that penetrated the legs, Duncan said.
Witnesses called 911 around 3 a.m. and led officers to the room where the man was shot. Officers applied tourniquets while at the scene.
Police are still investigating the cause of the shooting, and are not ready to release identifying information about the suspected shooter, Duncan said.
There is no danger to the community, he said.
