SNOHOMISH COUNTY — More than 2 million more people will become eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine at the end of the month.
On Wednesday, March 31, the state will open up vaccine eligibility to all people aged 60 to 64, as well as people of all ages who work in restaurants, construction, manufacturing and certain other industries.
This wave also opens vaccines to all people experiencing homelessness.
Additionally, people with two or more specific co-morbidities become eligible March 31 as well. The state has not published its formal list of qualifying co-morbidities.
On March 17, the state opened vaccine eligibility to everybody who works in certain jobs that interface with the public often or in congregate settings, such as grocery workers, transit drivers, court staff, jail staff, plus all remaining first responders.
The state estimates that after opening the next group on March 31, this will leave approximately 1 million more Washingtonians age 16 and up left who are yet to become eligible.
