SNOHOMISH — If you’ve been around town in Snohomish lately, and you’re a fan of the local burger chain Dick’s Drive-In, you may have noticed that their new food truck has popped up a few times recently. Serving up the chain’s signature burgers and shakes (no french fries), the food truck launched last November. The Dick’s food truck set up shop at Josh’s Taps and Caps on Feb. 18, and the Snohomish Police Station on Feb. 24.
Both visits resulted in long lines and much buzz around town. During the stop at the police station, some customers reported waiting almost two hours to order one of the cult-favorite burgers. While stopped at Josh’s Taps and Caps, the truck sold out an hour before they were scheduled to leave.
Fans may be wondering, does all the buzz in Snohomish over the visits mean a Dick’s location is coming to Snohomish soon?
“The food truck is used for many reasons, and one of those is to learn more about the cities or specific sites it visits and whether they would be good locations to build restaurants in the future,” said Jasmine Donovan, President of Dick’s Drive-In.
However, when asked about the possibility of a Snohomish location soon, Donovan said the company is currently focused on opening its latest announced location in Bellevue for this fall.
So, for now Snohomish residents will have to be satisfied with visits from the popular food truck.
The food truck is set to park in town from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at Josh’s Taps and Caps, 1800 Bickford Ave., and from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 2 at Haywire Brewing, on Treosti Road off of Old Snohomish-Monroe Road.
