SNOHOMISH — A City Council candidate is finding her signs persistently destroyed while others are being largely untouched.
Over the past week, someone sliced Tabitha Baty’s signs. On Friday, July 9, Baty said she found 16 of her signs stolen, including one plucked from the front yard of an Avenue D resident, she said.
Baty is the president of the group Snohomish for Equity, and is running against Steve Dana and Karen Guzak for Council Position 7.
Baty couldn’t pinpoint who is damaging the signs, but suggested by email it is because she’s “been very outspoken at the last few school board meetings where there has been a large crowd of conservatives who are in opposition to some of the things that Snohomish For Equity represents.”
She said the first wave of damage was about $150 worth of signs.
