Midtown to be Council topic April 20
SNOHOMISH — The results of a task force on reshaping the city’s midtown area will be presented to the City Council at its Tuesday, April 20 meeting starting at 6 p.m. A committee recommends allowing taller buildings, more mixed-use development, locating parking lots away from the front of future buildings and much more along a section of Avenue D between Sixth Street and the state Route 9 overpass.

Warehouse for Fryelands spot
MONROE — A warehouse is proposed at what’s today a vacant 7-acre lot at the southwest corner of U.S. 2 and Fryelands Boulevard. The public comment period concludes April 27. Everett to annex rest of Smith Island
EVERETT — The city plans to annex the last portion of Smith Island it doesn’t have already on the north side of the island.
There are two businesses at the site, and no residents, city planners said.
Planner Karen Stewart said the city has sought to annex this portion for a long while.
The piece is 368 acres of uplands.
County elected officials have already signed off on an agreement to allow Everett to annex the land.
A City Council vote to annex will be at council’s Wednesday, April 21 meeting.
