SNOHOMISH COUNTY — Small businesses can apply for coronavirus-assistance grants from Snohomish County now until Monday, June 22.
This is a second round of grants. The program is for businesses with 20 employees or less that can show “at least a 25 percent drop in revenue directly attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic,” according to the application materials.
Only online applications are being taken. The website where to apply is www.workforcesnohomish.org/snocogrant/apply/
Businesses that received money from other coronavirus stimulus programs can apply, but need to watch out to avoid “double-dipping” on what costs are being declared for the grants. Businesses that received money from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) or a Small Business Administration COVID-19 grant qualify for the county grant.
Vendors at farmers markets are eligible to apply, according to the program’s question-and-answer sheet.
Businesses may apply for grants in the amount of $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 or $25,000.
Grant recipients will be announced July 13.
More information about this program is at www.workforcesnohomish.org/snocogrant/
These grants are being made possible using federal and state grants received by the county.
The county’s first round of small business grants this spring, totaling $10 million, received beyond $32 million worth of requests among applicants, county executive director Kendee Yamaguchi said last month.
County plans to pursue Phase 3
Snohomish County officials are talking about pursuing Phase 3 of Gov. Jay Inslee’s Safe Start coronavirus reopening plan. The earliest the county could jump to Phase 3 is in late June after spending a minimum of three weeks in the current Phase 2.
